I wasn’t able to understand the movie story because I am not familiar with the language but I was surprised to see how developed the French movie production was, it was similar and up to the level of the Hollywood Movies. I think that French movie industry should be pushed up to an international Level.
I didn’t like the seen of the blood and Boxing in the movie I think it was very violent but I liked the idea of the man whop try to improve his life even if every thing was against I tried to catch up with the actors specially their conversation to understand them, I found some similar words to the things we studied in the course. If we kept watching more movies we will be able to improve our French.
When we discussed about the movie a lot of my colleagues thought that its violent or scary, some of them felt sorry for the hero because of the way he was treated but they like the way he stood for him self we think that the people well will help them get through any difficulties.
The movie Scorpion lived up to my prospects. It is an interesting story that has a well-built characterization. A deep story is represented behind each and every scene in the movie. It goes further than just being an action/drama movie. The plot portrays a strong meaning of emotions, devotion and sacrificing in spite of the sever violence.
The connection I found was the dialogues between the actors. The movie had a lot of scenes where two individuals were talking to one another. In other words, they were similar to the dialogues in class. Also, I was so anxious watching the film, trying to pick up words that are familiar to what I have been taking. This was equivalent to the feeling I normally experience in class when I’m learning something new.
When it comes to interaction, reviews about the movie actually varied from one another. Some people believe that it lacked empathy. Others found it hard to follow, brutal, and vicious. At the same time, people suppose that the movie conveyed a wide range of mixed emotions that in one way or another touched them. However, they all agree that it was enjoyable and worth watching.
I think the film was great, the acting is good and I believe that although the story was simple but it does the job. The story was easy to understand and easy to follow. The fighting was good although, I think they could have shown more, but what they had shown was enjoyable and emotional.
Some conversations were very similar to what we took in the class. I also tried to catch a new words and the meaning of it. The movie gives a various impressions.
The point of view changes from one to another, some people found the movie good but not great, some says that the movie was interesting and strong characterization, but the most agreed the movie is worth to be watching.
First of all, this is not the only French movie that I saw, but, this one is very kind because it was the first time for me to watch an action-French movie in the cinema. There are other French movies that I saw in some TV channels and they are also action movies. For me, I really like action movies even if they are not French or English.
Secondly, is the story. The story itself, in my opinion, is a story that shows us how a person can change, and how to control him self against bad situations. In addition, this kind of story we could find it in some movies that they have the similar kind of sport, like boxing, Tic Wan Do, kickboxing, and other fighting sports. Some people think that this move has no purpose. Well, it seems that because of the violence parts in it, but I believe that no movie with a good story without any purpose, except the horror movies. Horror movies have absolutely no purpose. That is my opinion.
Finally, the language. I briefly say that it is so great that French movies can be shown in Kuwait or other Arabic countries because that can be a good chance to attract the Arabs about France. It is also a kind of change or a new look for the cinema in Kuwait. I'm personally happy to see French movies in the cinema. That will remind me of French classes when I see other French movies in the future.
